Adding to the Spartan legacy

Lincoln East has a state-record 23 wins this season, and will try to add to its legacy Tuesday night with another state championship:

State soccer tournament results, pairings

OMAHA -- Giulio Persello held his arms high in the air, flashed a huge smile and was briefly knocked down while celebrating a goal he scored for Lincoln East during the state soccer tournament last week.

Its obvious the foreign-exchange student from Venice, Italy, is having fun playing soccer for the Spartans.

There have been some frustrating times adjusting to soccer and the English language, but Persello is now comfortable speaking with strangers and making plays on the soccer pitch.
